Vietnam - second biggest remittance recipient in Southeast Asia in 2012

(VOVworld) – The World Bank has reported that Vietnam was the second biggest remittance recipient in Southeast Asia in 2012. The Philippines topped the list with 24.45 billion USD, which is followed by Vietnam with 10 billion USD and Indonesia with 7.2 billion USD. World Bank economist Kaushik Basu said immigration and remittance are an important financial source for millions of people and play a significant role in many countries’ economic development.
