(VOVworld)- Deputy Minister of Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh on Tuesday held bilateral meetings with US and Indian delegations on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials' Meeting (ADSOM) and the ASEAN Defense Senior Officials' Meeting-Plus (ADSOM+) in Myanmar. In a meeting with the Indian delegation, Deputy Minister Vinh said the Vietnamese Party and State paid special attention to the comprehensive strategic cooperation with India. Indian officials said they were willing to cooperate with Vietnam to further enhance bilateral defence ties. Speaking at a meeting with the Vietnamese delegation, Assistant to US Secretary of Defence Robert Newberry praised Vietnam’s role within the ADMM+ saying that this cooperation framework was effective and brought mutual benefits to parties involved. The US official expressed his hope to further cooperation with Vietnam in searching for Americans missing in action and share experience in deploying the UN peace keeping force.
