(VOVworld) - The fifth National Congress of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association concluded in Hanoi on Thursday.

The new executive board for the next five years was declared with Senior Lieutenant-general Nguyen Van Duoc elected the chairman of the Association. He was speaking at the closing ceremony ‘Firstly, we’ll prioritize the building of the association toward developing the national great unity. Secondly, as set in the Party’s resolution, veterans’ responsibility is to cooperate with relevant agencies to develop and protect the Party and people. Veterans are one of core forces to participate in develop people’s security in localities nationwide.’
