Vietnam youth holds charity concert in Japan

(VOV) - The Vietnamese Youth and Students Association (VYSA) held a charity concert in Japan on Sunday. In an opening speech, VYSA President Nguyen Thi Thu Hong said this was the fourth concert to raise money for the VYSA Golden Heart Fund in support of Vietnamese students in Japan and poor pupils at home. Chairman of the VYSA Golden Heart Fund Hoang Thanh Duong said the fund has supported Vietnamese people in difficult circumstances, including victims of recent natural disasters in central Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese and Japanese victims of the 2011 tsunami and earthquake in Japan. Proceeds from the concert will fund scholarships for outstanding poor Vietnamese pupils and for a “meal with meat” program to provide more nutritious meals for Vietnamese children in disadvantaged areas.
