(VOVworld) – A workshop on development of environment-friendly transport vehicles was held in Hanoi on Friday by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the British Embassy in Vietnam.

Experts discussed the impacts of climate change, Vietnam’s scenarios and action plan to deal with the issue as well as British experience to develop environment-friendly transport vehicles. Deputy Minister of Transport, Le Manh Hung stressed climate change poses a big challenge to the world and Vietnam and affects considerably socio-economic development, including transportation: "The Ministry of Transport has worked out an action plan, which defines specific tasks for 2011-2015 period. We assess the impacts of climate change and pilot measures to mitigate the impact of green house effect in transportation"
