(VOVworld)- The overseas Vietnamese community in Russia has vowed to aid their home nation in the face of China’s recent violations of Vietnam’s sovereignty at sea. The pledge was made in an open letter that will be sent to Party and State leaders. In the letter, they expressed their protest over China’s brazen placement of an oil rig in an area deeply within Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone. The association fully believes in the leadership of the Party and State and the heroic tradition and strength of Vietnam in firmly safeguarding independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Truong Quang Giao is President of the Association: “I’m a historian and I know what the limitation would be when a country only based on its power and forces to impose and invade and even install its most modern oil rig in other country. I hope that with determination of Vietnamese naval soldiers and the entire nation, we need make to this problem international because this is not the matter of emotion but the matter of law. I’m very angry and really hope that people in the world will support Vietnam, we will win”.
