The GDP re-assessment based on a methodology recommended by the UN’s statistics division incorporates new information that fully reflects economic activities in Vietnam. The GSO said the review was in line with international practices and did not change the calculation method. The re-assesment reveals opportunities to expand State revenues and Government spending. An increased total GDP and per-capita GDP could boost Viet Nam’s contributions organisations it belongs to.
