(VOVWORLD) -Celebrations of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) are in full swing throughout the country.
The national flag is displayed everywhere in the border district of Ky Son, Nghe An province. Locals excitedly participated in the national celebration at the district’s center. Mr. Lo Thanh Vinh from Ta Ca commune, said: “Everyone looks forward to the National Day to participate in recreational, cultural, and sports activities.”
A food tray is placed in every family’s altar as an offering to President Ho Chi Minh and their ancestors. Mr. Tho Ba Re, Vice Chairman of the Ky Son District People’s Committee, said that locals are grateful to the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and authorities at all levels for the happy life they have today.
He said: “Local sporting events to commemorate the 79th National Day have been responded with enthusiasm. In this jubilant atmosphere, people express their patriotism and love for their homeland, and contribute to the district’s socio-economic development.”
These days, visitors have flooded northern city of Tuyen Quang dubbed as “the capital of Vietnam’s revolution” during the anti-French resistance war. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu from Thai Nguyen city said: “My family came to join in Tuyen Quang’s celebration of the National Day, which is one of the biggest in Vietnam. It’s beautiful here, and I want to see it for myself. The creative designs reminiscent of the countryside, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland left a strong impression on me.”
In Thua Thien-Hue, domestic and foreign visitors are flocking to Huong River to watch traditional boat racing, an annual activity of the province to celebrate the National Day and sportsmanship following President Ho Chi Minh’s examples.
