(VOVWORLD) - Youth Month 2024 themed "Youth volunteers for community life" was launched on Saturday in many localities nationwide to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

In HCMC, the Youth Month which will run through the end of March will cover many practical activities including implementing seven youth projects of municipal union members to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national unification, April 30, and devising 11 targets with many specific contents.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union launched the "Young Scientific Intellectual Volunteers in the City" program, involving 30 teams of volunteer youths and taking place from February to December to promote the role of young people in the municipal socio-economic activities.
A similar ceremony was held by Hai Phong city Youth Union the same day. Activities will focus on new technologies, digital transformation, social security, environmental protection, and climate change response. Programs to help young people in starting up businesses, caring for and educating teenagers and children will also be implemented.
During Youth Month 2024, Kon Tum provincial Youth Union will promote communications and education about the traditions of Vietnamese youth and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, activities to care for, support and promote the role of young people, and build a strong Youth Union, expand the solidarity to gather young people in building the Party and political system.
At the launch of the Youth Month this year, Da Nang Youth Union set a goal of implementing five projects. They will set up two playgrounds for children in the city, two children's book libraries, planting 1,000 trees for the program "For a green Vietnam", supporting compassionate houses for union members in difficult circumstances in Quang Nam province, and installing lighting in Ta Lang hamlet, Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district.
Can Tho City Youth Union and Vietnam Youth Union mobilized sponsor agencies to donate a bridge worth 5,500 USD, 30 bikes to disadvantaged students, and 40 gifts to youth members and people in difficult circumstances. Can Tho city's youth visited and gave gifts to young people who voluntarily perform military service in 2024, provided training of technology and science for people, and disseminated information about the Vietnamese youth model in the new era.
