As a student, Nguyen Dang Vu understands students’ need for jobs. After observing that many spend a lot of time and money and still fail to find a job, Vu had an idea for a project to generate jobs for students and the project won him first prize from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam for its feasibility. The club for human resource development headed by Vu was founded in November, 2012. In 4 years, nearly 1,500 jobs have been created. At first, the club mainly operated online, but few students used it. Vu continued to contact enterprises. Because of his enthusiasm and professional working style, companies such as Coca Cola, travel agencies, and Garment 10 Corporation started contacting Vu with employment opportunities. Nguyen Dang Vu said: “Recognizing the students’ need, I thought of creating a channel to provide them with employment information. I’m happy when more students find jobs”.
Nguyen Duc Anh, a final year student at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, found a job as a tour guide thanks to Vu’s club. Anh said: “The club gave me information on employment and helped me find the job I wanted. Vu and his friends in the club were very helpful and enthusiastic”.
Nguyen Dang Vu stresses two things: do something you like and pick a job suited to your ability. The club has helped hundreds of students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and other universities in Hanoi find jobs. Pham Hoang Giang is a member of the club: “I am so happy to see many students get the jobs they want. I used the club to look for a job. I hope more students will find jobs to help cover their school expenses”.
