(VOVworld) - The noble beauty of the lotus has been a traditional theme in photography. Tran Bich has featured the lotus in his various artistic views. The beautiful lotus which grows in mud and produces a delicate perfume makes him think of human values. This week, VOV profiles photographer Tran Bich and his lotus photos.

Tran Bich’s 17th exhibition on the theme of the lotus is now on display in Ho Chi Minh city. Sixty photos of the collection “Vietnamese lotus – lotus life” reflect the pure, noble, and sacred beauty of lotus flowers and the life of the lotus. Bich told us that some years ago he came across a lotus pond in the southern city of Phan Thiet and was struck by the evanescent beauty of lotus flowers. Since then he has been in love with the lotus. Tran Bich elaborates: "My exhibitions convey the message that we should live a lofty like the lotus, grow up straight with the characteristics of Vietnamese people, do no harm to society and the people around us, and love and assist each other in difficulties."

The lotus exhibitions fascinate art lovers and honor the unique beauty of the lotus, Vietnam’s national flower. A lot of lotus photos have been sold and the proceeds used to assist less fortunate people. Bich has received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Dong Thap province, and Da Lat city for his devotion to art and charitable contributions. The Vietnamese Guinness Organization acknowledged his two lotus records. Reporter and photographer Duy Anh came to the new exhibition. "The lotus is a typical theme. Almost all photographers have shot the lotus but Bich has a deep perspective on the lotus which has produced many images of unique composition and light. In my professional view, his photos are impressive," Duy says.
Since 2009, Tran Bich has held 17 lotus exhibitions in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, and other cities and provinces nationwide. The total proceeds of 2.5 billion Dong were donated to homeless children, lonely elders, poor ethnic minority people, children with cancer, or study encouragement funds.

Actor Chi Bao, representative of the Fund for the Heart, is fond of the lotus. "Photographer Tran Bich has set lotus records. He has traveled around Vietnam taking lotus photos for 3 years. Vietnamese people love the lotus, but not many people are as passionate about the lotus as Bich. The Fund for the Heart sponsors this exhibition because we champion love and passion."
Tran Bich says he has a predestined love for the lotus and he has found a close similarity between human life and the life of lotus.
