The program “All Silk Roads” opened on Friday featuring an Ao Dai fashion show, clothes produced from silk, along with contemporary folk music performances.
A space introducing traditional silk production and the fabric weaving process in the northern delta region is set up at the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center. Visitors can visit a space for Vietnamese tea and calligraphy art at the Heritage House of 87 Ma May street, learn about Vietnamese medicinal herbs at Kim Ngan Temple on Hang Bac street, or join Creative Design Week 2022.
Ms. Tran Thuy Lan, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quarter, said: “During the Creative Design Week 2022, traditional products have been modernized with the creativity of designers and artisans to meet the market and art demands in the modern time. We hope to bring traditional products closer to local and foreign visitors.”
“All Silk Roads” introduces various cultural activities in different art forms. In the field of fine arts, well-known designers will introduce fashion collections featuring the harmony between the traditional material of silk and modern designs. The collection reflects the connection between generations in the context of cultural development and change.
Designer Trinh Bich Thuy said: “This collection is very special. Firstly, we use silk products from traditional silk craft villages as the main material for the collection. Then, we apply fine arts on the traditional silk material in terms of colors, structures, and installation. We also renew the cotton-padded jackets with Vietnam’s traditional patched patterns.”

Hoang Quy, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh city, said: “I have been in Hanoi for 2 days and joined many cultural events of this program. Despite being in Hanoi for quite a short time, those cultural events with the participation of many artists, artisans, designers, and painters help me understand more about the capital city as well as its thousand-year-old history.”
