(VOVworld) - Traveling on holiday has become popular in Vietnam. In recent years more Vietnamese people take in-bound or out-bound tours during national holidays, the New Year’s Festivals, and the summer vacation. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has launched the “Vietnamese people travel Vietnam” program to promote in-bound tourism.

Approximately 35 million Vietnamese people traveled within Vietnam last year. The figure is expected to reach 37.5 million this year. Tourism experts predict that the domestic market will remain lucrative for travel companies. General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Nguyen Van Tuan, said that the domestic tourism stimulation program is a practical move to mobilize Vietnamese people’s contribution to the national economy in this difficult period.“We have launched the message “Vietnamese people travel across Vietnam” to boost inbound tourism. We have developed tours to mountainous, remote areas and islands, aiming to support local economic development. We will also open new tours to other countries and increase tourist promotion activities.”

Since the beginning of this year, the number of tourists and revenues from inbound tours has sharply increased compared to the same period last year. Summer tourism for Hanoi Redtour increased 30%, Fiditour 40%, and Vietrantour doubled. Fiditour offers discounts on the package “Vietnam, my beloved country”.
Deputy Director of the Vitour Da Nang Le Tan Thanh Tung said his company continues to promote the “Heritage journey and central region heaven” program. “The Heritage Journey of the central region will visit cultural heritages while the Central Heaven program will take tourists to beautiful beaches and explore the diverse ecosystem. We maintain prices for these tours and improve services including upgrading accommodations from 3-star to 4-star hotel, organizing Gala dinners with more delicious dishes and art performances. We offer a reduction of 20% to 30% for other tours.”

Travel companies in Hanoi have improved and diversified tourist services to meet different clients. Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “Travel companies have to design tours suitable for people from other provinces who want to visit historical, cultural, and revolutionary sites in Hanoi. They should increase cooperation with travel agents and service providers in other provinces to connect tours.”

General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Van Tuan said that besides Vietnamese people visiting places in the country also display their patriotism and national pride. “When the living and economic conditions have improved, people prefer overseas tours. However, Vietnam is long and vast and there are many places we should visit to love our country more.”

There are many natural scenic spots, from northernmost Ha Giang to southernmost Ca Mau, from the mountains to the seaside. The unique, diverse cultures of the 54 ethnic groups contains numerous interesting features for tourists to explore and admire.
