Vintage audio delude Vietnamese audio lovers

Old radios, turner disc players, plastic discs, amplifiers, and vintage reel-to-reel tape recorder deck, once fell into oblivion, have become precious antiques. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, audio lovers, regardless of their professions and ages, gather at “Phong Drum” coffee shop in a small lane in Hanoi center. The shop owner, Phong, used to be a drummer in a Vietnamese student band in the Czech Republic 20 years ago, reserves his house as a venue for his friends to come and share their love for music and audio. Phong has become one of the most famous collectors of vintage audio equipments. Visiting Phong’s coffee shop, one can enjoy drinks at very cheap prices while having a look at his many unique audio devices collected from all over the world: from Warren Junior turner disc players to audio accessories of famous brandnames all over the world like Teac, Sony, Panasonic, and Akai. Pham Van Huong, a regular visitor to this coffee shop, and one of famous collectors of antique loudspeakers in Hanoi, told VOV: "I love antique loudspeakers the most as they were often made from precious materials that people stopped manufacturing today including magnetic, and wool or animal feathers to produce the loudspeakers’ covers. Such loudspeakers produce sounds of very good quality, very attractive and magical."
Phuong said he has been able to find some antique loudspeakers from scrap-iron dealers. After being restored by Phuong, these vintage loudspeakers cane be sold at hundreds of USD. Phuong said: "I find a great pleasure restoring old audio equipments and bring them to life again. I have been able to restore some audio devices dated hundreds of years ago and this has brought me endless inspiration."
