(VOVWORLD) - As database is the core of digital transformation, the education and training sector is working diligently to complete its database this year. Thanks to the digital transformation of education nationwide for several years, the sector has improved in quality.

In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training plans to build a national digital archive for all levels of education and digital competency standards for students and teachers.
The Ministry has developed a database system for 53,000 schools, which has digitized the information of 24 million students and 1.5 million teachers and education staff and administrators.
Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, said that the sector hopes the change will be more practical, referring to innovation in teaching in a digital environment, not only online teaching.
“It’s the same with school administration. We have built a sector database system to which schools of all levels have been connected. In the future, we’ll continue to instruct schools how to make full use of the database in their administration and management,” said Mr. Son.
The database at https://csdl.moet.gov.vn is used across the education sector. In addition to the management software provided by the Ministry, local Departments of Education and Training have also used other software and combined it with the data source for management.
According to Truong Thi Quy Hoa, Principal of Van Dien Secondary School in Hanoi, in the past, whenever school teachers needed to make reports, they sought support from office staff.
“Now, thanks to eNetViet software, we can get information about human resources or student management at any time. Even during the pandemic, we were able to track the number of cases and vaccinations among students and teachers,” said Ms. Hoa.
In addition to supporting schools in student management, applying IT to teaching also makes lessons livelier. Students can look up information on the Internet, participate in forums, answer exam questions, and learn English. Now that each classroom is equipped with a projector, lessons are more interesting.
Nguyen Phuong Linh, a student at Hanoi’s Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, said that they are familiar with technological devices and applications and vivid videos help them absorb information more easily.

“In the past, to do exercises, we had to use an extra board to hang on the black board. Now we only need to project the textbook software for the pupils to do the exercises. The children can use the teacher’s computer to do exercises on the screen,” said Ms. Lan.
IT enables teachers to assess the ability level and thinking of each student, and adjust their teaching appropriately.
Nguyen Thi Phuong, a teacher at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, said that IT tools give her an overview of every student and their progress.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to know the feelings of each student after a lesson. IT gives me a tool to find out what students are thinking and feeling and adjust my teaching method and the organization of activities during class hours,” said Ms. Phuong.
Digital transformation in education is moving traditional teaching methods toward universalized and personalized lifelong learning and improving the efficiency of state management in education and training.
