Vietnam and UAE will meet in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers at My Dinh stadium tomorrow. The UAE team arrived yesterday and will have a training session tonight.

The UAE players are in good physical health and prefer playing aerial balls.

Asked about preparations to meet UAE, Van Lam said: “UAE is physically strong. The coaching team keeps reminding me of that. The whole team is ready for the match tomorrow.”

UEA coach Bart Van Marwijk said that Vietnam is the strongest team in group G.  Van Lam said: “My teammates and I will do our best. The best team will be decided after all matches.”

Dang Van Lam had a successful season in the Thai League. The 26-year-old goalie played all 30 matches in Thailand, a record for Vietnamese footballers playing abroad.

When the Thai League ended, Van Lam returned to join the Vietnam national team for the World Cup 2022 qualifiers. Dang Van Lam is coach Park’s first choice for the goalkeeper position.
