Ngo Van Quy, Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, told the opening ceremony: “Hanoi will soon organize international book festivals. Readers and publishing houses in Hanoi and the rest of Vietnam will have more opportunities to exchange experiences, promote their publications, and cooperate with advanced publishers. Such festivals will help promote the Vietnamese culture to the world and vice versa.”
Themed “Books and startup”, this year’s festival features 55 booths by domestic and foreign publishing houses, libraries, and book companies.
During the 5-day festival, there will be a talk show on startup between readers, authors, researchers, and entrepreneurs and a program to donate books for school libraries and post offices in disadvantaged communes.
