(VOVworld) – Members of the Saigon Trading Group, Satra have raised about 9,600 USD from a program to express the love and responsibility to soldiers stationed in Truong Sa/Spratly Islands.

Van Duc Muoi, Director General of VISSAN, Vietnam's biggest slaughterhouse and meat processing company and a Satra member, said ‘This is a meaningful program through which each staff and worker of Vissan wants to express their love to soldiers and fishermen in Truong Sa Archipelago. In recent two years, we annually contribute to the program about 4,800 USD. This year, we donated 9,600 USD and an hour of production of canned food as presents to Truong Sa soldiers. ’

In related news, Ho Chi Minh City hosted a festival on Thursday to let people express their gratitude and get closer to soldiers defending national waters and islands. The festival gathered 200 artists, 100 naval soldiers, and the city’s youngsters. Participants were encouraged to donate to children living in Truong Sa archipelago. An exhibition on Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty and resources showcased images of Vietnam’s sea, islands, maps, sovereignty milestones, and the program “contributing stones to build the Truong Sa Islands”.
