(VOVworld) – Activities are underway across the country in response to Vietnam Family Day on June 28 towards building knowledgeable and happy families. Authorities of Thanh Hoa province have launched an information program to raise public awareness of violence prevention and cultural lifestyle in Vietnamese families.

The province has hosted a contest that integrates sports activities with information supporting traditional Vietnamese family values. Mr. Vũ Thái Sơn, Deputy Director of the Thanh Hoa provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said:" We used to organize a separate contest on family values, but this year we are integrating it with  sports activities to make a bigger contest. Informational activities for this year’s Vietnam Family Day aim to enhance the consciousness on fighting against domestic violence and building cultural lifestyle in Vietnamese families."

The northern province of Tuyen Quang has hosted the national Northern family sports tournament 2012. The tournament, held by the General Department of Gymnastics and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism encourages people to exercise to improve family members’ health, and to build cultural families and hamlets.

Meanwhile, the Happy Family Festival takes place all over Vinh Phuc province with many activities designed to help disadvantaged families or those with disabled or HIV infected members.
