(VOVworld) – Vietnamese competitors won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the 27^th International Biology Olympiad, which closed in Hanoi on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam congratulated the medalists and wished them to continue upholding their talents and passion for learning: “Science and scientific achievements are the common heritages of humankind. All countries are responsible for contributing to these achievements. It’s essential to discover and nurture young talents and the Olympiads are important for this purpose. Young scientists not only represent the spirit of learning, passion for science and determination to overcome challenges, but also are goodwill ambassadors of peace, friendship and future of the world.”

At the closing ceremony, the organizing board awarded 26 gold, 51 silver and 75 bronze medals to competitors.
