Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, Truong Hoa Binh, said that with the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community, cross-border trade and civil disputes will become more complex, prompting a need for legal assistance to resolve international cases.
ASEAN countries have to cooperate with a spirit of unity and mutual support to handle disputes and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations.
Binh said: “Harmonizing the legal systems of the various Southeast ASEAN nations is a process of narrowing legal differences among member countries to minimize legal conflicts in civil cases. ASEAN integration and legal harmonization will maintain regular contact among member countries to promptly resolve disputes and build a diverse and united ASEAN.”
