Dinh Van Khiet, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said the 4-day event marks the 40^th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory, which paved the way for the 1975 Ho Chi Minh Offensive to liberate Saigon and reunify the country. This year’s event celebrates the 110^th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot and 100 years of growing coffee trees in Dak Lak province. Khiet said that through the festival Dak Lak province hopes to popularize the Vietnamese coffee brand and expand trade with other countries. Khiet said: “This year’s festival was connected to other big festivals across the country. The festival honors the coffee tree, one of the key factors in bringing wealth to people of the Central Highlands. The event helps to popularize the image of Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak and honor coffee tree growers.”
