Developing a learning-oriented society in Vietnam
(VOVworld) - A seminar on building a learning-oriented society – from vision to action opened in HCM city on Tuesday. Attendees discussed specific plans of actions toward building a learning-oriented society in Vietnam until 2020.
Vice President of the Vietnam Learning Promotion Association Pham Tat Dong said that in 2 years of implementation the project to build a learning-oriented society for the 2012-2020 period has helped to improve community education in Vietnam: “Each member of the community should have their own way of learning. We have 11 community learning centers and 7,000 libraries but still lack mechanisms for life-long learning.”
Mr. Dong said Vietnam needs to determine the role and responsibility of each individual and organization and reform the education sector with openness and IT applications to promote community learning.
