Enhancing economic cooperation in the Development Triangle Area
(VOVworld) – A forum of partners of the Development Triangle Area of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia opened in Buon Ma Thuot city on Monday. Under the theme “Building partnership to realize the potential of the Development Triangle”, the forum attracted great attention from international investors, especially those from Asia. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia for their efforts to develop the Development Triangle. Phuc said:“I call on international organizations, especially the Asian Development Bank, ODA donors and enterprises to pay more attention to this region, focusing on urgent and important projects to serve local people. I propose the ministries and sectors of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia should facilitate and support localities in the region and the implementation of master plans and a memorandum of understanding on special incentives for the regions that we agreed”.
The Development Triangle Area between Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos is the border region between the three countries covering 13 provinces including 5 from Vietnam: Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc.
