(VOVworld)- A workshop to gather opinions on the building of an implementation plan for the goals of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) opened in Hanoi on Wednesday. A blueprint for realising the ASCC goals by 2025 has been drafted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and other relevant ministries and sectors.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Thi Hong Lan addresses the workshop |
Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Thi Hong Lan said:“As a dynamic and proactive member of ASEAN, Vietnam has drafted a plan for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community. Over the next ten years, integration will be vital for all members. Once the ASEAN Community is established by December 31
st this year, issues relating to labor, environment and economics will change and have a great impact on Vietnam. So, Vietnam needs to develop a master plan to meet the demands of national development and integration for the next ten years”.
ASEAN is working to set up a common Community by December 31 this year. Under the ASEAN Community’s Post-2015 Vision, the bloc’s member nations will be outward looking, living in peace, stability and prosperity, and bonded together in a partnership of dynamic development.
To that end, the regional countries have devised blueprints for the ASEAN Political-Security Community, Economic Community and Socio-Cultural Community. The ASCC Blueprint focuses on building an inclusive, sustainable, resilient, and dynamic ASCC that engages and benefits its people.
