(VOVworld) – The Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Information Commission Dinh The Huynh said that external information was an important part of communications activities to propagate Vietnam’s Party and state policies.

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Wednesday for the National External Information Service Awards 2014. 59 entries in 5 categories: print, online, radio, television, and pictorials were awarded. Mr. Huynh said that the external information service was tasked with promoting Vietnam’s history, culture, and people, explaining Vietnam’s laws, policies, and its views on regional and global issues, as well as fighting misinformation from hostile forces. Mr. Huynh said: “The external information service has become more diverse in terms of content and form in recent years. It has contributed significantly to maintaining political stability, expanding Vietnam’s relations with other countries, boosting Vietnam’s international integration, attracting more investment, and connecting the Overseas Vietnamese community with the homeland.”
