Ha Long Declaration on creative economy, connecting cultures adopted
(VOVWORLD) - Member states released a Ha Long Declaration on creative economy-connecting cultures for peace and sustainable development as the 43rd session of the Executive Board of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA) closed on Monday in Vietnam’s Ha Long city.

The annual event drew 40 representatives from WFUCA member states and hundreds of delegates from agencies and sectors, as well as cultural, educational, and scientific organizations in Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations and member of the WFUCA Executive Board, said that the session marks a new development of UNESCO non-governmental movements in the world, paving the way for strengthening cooperation and exchange among the UNESCO associations and clubs for the implementation of more programs and actions.
The highlight of this year’s meeting was that delegates touched upon the role of cultural industries and the creative economy in promoting economic growth, creating livelihoods, and preserving cultural heritages.
The WFUCA Executive Board meeting is held annually to promote global education, science, culture, and communication worldwide.
