Hoi An welcomes Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013
(VOVworld)-Conference “Meeting localities and diplomatic corps” took palce in Hoi An ancient city today/ on Saturday as part of the 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013. The event attracted the participation of nearly 120 representatives, focusing on sustainable socio-economic growth; human resource development and cultural and tourism promotion.

The attendees stressed the central coastal region has great potential for tourism development with unique cultural and natural heritages recognized by UNESCO. So promoting cooperation and international integration is of great importantce. Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga said: “This conference is a great opportunity for businesses and authorities of different localities in Vietnam to meet with diplomatic corps and ambassadors, to introduce local strength and potential for cooperation, as well as development policies. This will help us bring into play our potential to cooperate with other countries and boost cooperation for mutual benefits.”

The 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 is to be open tonight, at Hoi An city’s Opera House. Mr Dinh Hai, Director of Quang Nam provincial Culture – Sports and Tourism Department said: “So far, our set programs for this festival have been well done. This is thanking to the good preparation of all involved partners, Quang Nam province and international friends. Quang Nam province has done its utmost to create the best possible condition for participating partners and tourists to the festival.”
Earlier, the Vietnam - ASEAN cultural heritage space was held at An Hoi Statues Garden, Hoi An city. Kiara an Italian tourist said:“I can’t imagine how beautiful this place is. The lanterns here are so unique. I love the folk music so much. I also love the great architect of these ancient houses here.”
