Hung Kings’ death anniversary and Hung Temple festival announced
(VOV) – The Phu Tho province’s People’s Committee on Monday announced upcoming activities for this year’s anniversary of the Hung Kings’ death and the Hung Temple festival.

This year’s event will take place over 7 days from the 4th to the 10th of March in the lunar calendar. The ritual part will be organized solemnly with the main focus on a ceremony to honor and receive the certificate recognizing the Hung Kings worship ritual as a world intangible heritage. The festival itself will consist of various activities including art performance, Xoan singing and a Phu Tho province folk festival, Chung (square sticky rice) cake making contest, and a photo exhibition on the worship of the Hung Kings in the community’s cultural life. Ha Ke San, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho province’s People’s Committee and Head of the event’s organizing board, said: "This year’s event is special because it will include the ceremony to honor and receive world cultural heritage certification for the Hung Kings’ worship ritual. The program will also include street festivals. We invited 8 other provinces to join with us in organizing the event".
