Improving the quality and effectiveness of international integration
(VOVworld) – The Central Theoretical Council held a symposium in Ho Chi Minh city on Wednesday to discuss strategic directions for Vietnam’s domestic and foreign policies in the contemporary world.
Delegates discussed the economic situation, the trend of globalization, the development of border-less information, non-traditional security, and their impacts on Vietnam. Vietnam also faces a number of challenges namely lagging behind economically, the complicated East Sea issue, and cooperation within ASEAN. Professor Vu Van Hien, Vice President of the Council, said:
“This symposium is part of a national scientific project called “The contemporary world and issues posed for Vietnam” We have been carrying out this project for 2 years which provides the bases for reviewing the 30 years of renewal and recommendations to party and state policies.”
