International Children’s Day celebrated nationwide
(VOVworld)- Ho Chi Minh city on Sunday held a festival called “Children do thousands of good deeds” and a ceremony to honour 300 outstanding children. The activities are to celebrate International Children’s Day, June 1st. Huynh Nguyen Hoang Yen is a pupil in An Lac secondary school in Binh Tan district: “I helped my classmates to overcome difficulties to learn better, returned loss property and several other good deeds. I wish that there would be no disadvantaged children in Vietnam. Their difficulties will be eased with the help of other people”.
Local children presented books, notebooks and school aids to disadvantaged children in Cao Bang and Dien Bien provinces.
In Hanoi, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum opened an exhibition themed “Flower and Sun”. On display are paintings by children from Flower and Sun club. Proceedings from the auctioning of these paintings will be used for humanitarian activities. To mark the occasion, an art program was held in Hanoi Children’s Palace. Similar activities were held in other cities and provinces across the country.
