(VOVworld)-The Ministry of culture, sport and tourism and the Quang Tri provincial People’s committee today/ on Saturday held an international seminar on tourism development on East-West economic corridor.

The economic corridor is created based on a road of 1,450 km with the west end at port city of Mawlamyine (Myanmar), crossing Thai provinces and Laotian provinces of Savannakhet, Vietnamese provinces of Quang Tri,  and Đà Nẵng city as the east end. At the seminar, local and foreign delegates put forth plans for jointly tapping tourist potentials along the East-West economic corridor for rapid, strong and sustainable development.  Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Nguyen Duc Cuong, Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People’s committee said:"We hope that through the speeches, contributive opinions of participants of today seminar, Quang Tri province will define its road to rapid and sustainable tourism development."

At the seminar, representatives also proposed many suggestions to promote the tourism development on West East economic corridor including, raising quality of tourist products and services, sharing tourist markets and cooperating on travel.
