(VOVworld) - The Italy-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group (IVFPG) officially made its debut in Rome on Friday.  National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, IVFPG President Pier Ferdinando Casini, and Italian and Vietnamese parliamentarians were among distinguished guests attending the event.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Hung affirmed that the formation of the group represented an important step forward in bilateral ties and to increased parliamentarian cooperation between them: “I welcome Italian parliamentarians for supporting and participating in the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group. This would bring the two parliaments closer and contribute to their bilateral cooperation. I strongly believe that with your distinguished prestige, the Italy-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group will work effectively benefiting both legislative bodies and our peoples”

Earlier, the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Parliamentarian Group has been established and presided over by Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).
