Large number of visitors on Lunar New Year holiday
(VOV) – The central provinces and cities have attracted large number of tourists on the first days of the year.
The ancient town of Hoi An organized many spring events such as lantern contest, bai choi singing and fish worshiping. The town has received around 4,000 domestic and international tourists which mainly come from Australia, Europe, China, South Korea and Japan. Vo Phung is Director of Hoi An city’s Culture and Tourism Center: "This year, the weather is favorable for activities. Folk games like pot breaking and bai choi singing attracted a lot of tourists. Relic sites including Bridge pagoda and club house are open to public these days".
Meanwhile, spring flower festival in Da Nang city attracted more than 80,000 visitors. Spectators got to know about Vietnam’s rural features: village gates, bamboo hedges and water wells. This year’s festival for the first time had a gift presenting service by 3 Saints of Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity. Tran Thi Khuong Vi, Deputy Head of Culture Department of Da Nang city’s environment company said: "Bird contest and water puppetry attracted a lot of tourists. Besides, this year’s flower festival donated 70 million VND to the city’s Association of Agent Orange victims".
Many tourists chose Thua Thien Hue a place of visit on the first days of the year. Hue Monuments Conversation Center was open free of charge on the first 3 days of the year. Phan Thanh Hai is the head of the center: "All the relic sites are open to welcome visitors on the first three days of the year. We received 4,000 to 5,000 visitors on this occasion. Many other activities are also held for Lunar new year festival".
