Legislators put forward suggestions to Constitution changes
The National Assembly Office has reviewed the implementation of the 1992 Constitution. Lawmakers suggested that the Constitution should define entities which are entitled to submit their law initiatives and drafts with priority given to the Government’s submission. The Constitution should also clarify the authority of the National Assembly in determining major national issues. Regarding the functions and role of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Office Dang Van Chien said: “We need to find the best way to maximize the performance of the Standing Committee. It should not only work with the Ethnicity Council and other committees but also with the Government, court and procuracy sectors and the Fatherland Front.”
