NA Standing Committee opens its 16th session
(VOVworld) - The National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 16th session in Hanoi on Monday. Speaking at the opening, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that during the 5-day meeting the Committee would discuss revisions of 8 laws and ordinances including the bills on Value-added Tax and Corporate Income Tax in order to solve obstacles in the way of the production businesses.

On Friday, the Committee will hold a Q&A session with the President of the People’s Supreme Court and Minister of Education and Training. The Committee will seek opinions on preparing for a vote of confidence for officials elected or appointed by the NA, to be held at the coming 5th meeting. Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung says: "In order to successfully conduct a vote of confidence in officials elected or appointed by the NA, we need to prepare a thorough plan. This is the first time we have organized a vote of confidence in this way, so we have to ensure its quality is in line with the spirit of the NA’s resolution."
On Monday’s morning session, the Committee discussed the revisions of the Law on Value-added Tax. The deputies asked the government to evaluate the law’s implementation and propose recommendations for fundamental revisions.
