(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hailed the scientific and technological achievements which had helped raise Vietnam to 59th place in the Global Innovation Index.

At an online conference on science and technology held by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi on Wednesday, Mr. Phuc mentioned certain decisive factors in advancing Vietnam’s scientific and technological level including policy, human resources, capital, infrastructure, international integration, and the government’s management capability.
Mr. Phuc said: “Scientific research should be closely related to market needs. The quality and value of scientific products should be assessed by the market. A technology market should be established to trade technologies and products.”
The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Science and Technology to strengthen the enforcement of intellectual property rights and improve Vietnam’s competitiveness in the business environment and offered to meet scientists to acquire their ideas for national development.
