National Tourism Year program until 2017 will generate momentum for Vietnam’s inbound and outbound tourism. Since 2002, the program has brought concrete socio-economic results to localities and improved people’s awareness about tourism development. A seminar on how to improve National Tourism Year was held in the central province of Thua Thien Hue today. Nguyen Van Tuan, Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said ‘National Tourism Year has created a number of activities to promote products and scenic spots in the host province and its adjacent localities. The program has also mobilized capital resources to invest in infrastructure, services, personnel training, and promotion activities’.

Meanwhile Ngo Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee noted ‘The Vietnam Administration of Tourism has long wanted Vietnam ’s central provinces to develop a Heritage Road as a tourism product. This seminar and the 2012 National Tourism Year will offer us an opportunity to promote that product whose theme coincide with the 2012 Hue Festival. This seminar is of special significance for Hue ’.
