‘The decree will simplify administrative procedures, remove either overlapped or irrational administrative procedures that prove troublesome for citizens and religious organizations when they practice their religious activities. The new decree will help reorganize religious activities in the community, set orientations for religious activities in line with the goals of communications, commemoration, honoring those who have rendered great service to the nation, and preserving national cultural symbols. The decree sets regulations for foreigners practicing religions in Vietnam. They can register with provincial People’s Committees to practice religious activities in legitimate legal institutions’.
The decree will take effect since January 1st, 2013.
