November 20^th marks the Vietnam Teachers’ Day and celebrations are underway throughout the country. In Hanoi has honored 50 outstanding young teachers, who are working in 19 remote and disadvantaged provinces. Addressing a ceremony on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said the party and state have given incentives to educational development, including allocating 20% of the state budget for education, upgrading schools, building dormitories for students and houses for  teachers as well as helping poor students go to school.

In Ho Chi Minh city, 30 teachers of the total 60,000 teachers in the city have been presented with awards for  special achievements in teaching and emulation movements. Tran Thi Binh, who teaches children with disabilities in Binh Minh school, says: "The children’s disadvantages have motivated me to make innovation in teaching.They are either mentally ill, paralyzed or abandoned.  So I should do something to help them. I have learnt experiences from domestic and foreign experts and made them fit for every child’s needs".

Celebration events also take place in southeastern provinces and Da Nang city.
