Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2019 held nationwide

Head of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Vuong Bich Thang, joined thousands of participants attending the event around Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem Lake.
“The Olympic Run Day for Public Health is part of the activities to mark the 73rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s call on the community to practice physical exercise, which falls on the sports sector’s traditional day on March 27. The annual event aims to develop the physical exercise and sport movement among the community,” said Thang.
The Hanoi’s Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2019 was associated with the 46th running tournament held by the Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) newspaper. In Bac Kan province, nearly 2000 people participated in the Olympic Run Day. “It’s a great idea to hold a walking event for the elderly and a jogging competition for the youth. I am glad to join in this occasion in a hope for wider public participation in this movement,” said 76-year-old Hoang Thi Them, who is a local participant.
Similar events took place in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Long City, attracting thousands of people participating.
