Policies must meet the people’s aspiration

(VOVworld)- A delegation of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation led by its Deputy Head Nguyen Duy Viet has paid a working visit to the US to learn the means by which to deal with people’s contributions to policy making. During its stay in the US, the delegation had working sessions with the US National Security Council, the Special Assistant to President Barack Obama and the Assistant to the Secretary of State. They discussed people’s petitions, how to make these petitions workable and meaningful for the President and the US administration, methods of organizing public polls and understanding the aspirations of people, as well as religious, civil and non-government organizations. Mr. Viet said:“The Party wishes to empower the voice of the people and follows the stance that all Party and State mechanisms and policies, and laws must be for the people and by the people. We are developing methods that can incorporate the people’s wisdom, experience, dynamism and creativity. We will also issue a mechanism on social criticism to make sure that our policies meet the aspirations of the people”.
