(VOVworld)- A seminar entitled “Eastern Front- from the Xuan Loc campaign to the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign”, took place Tuesday in the southern province of Dong Nai to mark the 37^th anniversary of the victory at Xuan Loc victory and the 1975 Spring Offensive.

Vietnamese troops entered to liberate Xuan Loc

At the event, the delegates including officials, soldiers, veteran revolutionaries, as well as citizens who had witnessed the campaigns, discussed the decisive factors that led to the victory at Xuan Loc as well as the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign. Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Dung, the Deputy Director of the political Department of the Vietnam People's Army spoke at the event: "The Xuan Loc campaign played a key role in the 1975 Spring Offensive which targeted Saigon. Xuan Loc was considered a bastion of the Saigon regime as they had invested a great deal to turn the place into a major base. We suffered huge losses when liberating Xuan Loc."
