(VOVworld)- The National Assembly’s Office and the War Veterans’ Association jointly organized a conference on Monday to increase their members’ understanding about the 2013 Constitution. Deputy Head of the Law Committee of the National Assembly, Doctor Le Minh Thong briefed the participants on the Constitution’s fundamental contents and its changes. Under the Constitution, the safeguarding of the homeland is an important task of the Party, people, army and the political system, which must be reflected in all areas ranging from politics to economics, culture, national defense and security and external policies. The Constitution affirms and highlights the role of the armed forces in national defense, the importance of combining external policies with national defense in protecting national independence, sovereignty, unification and territorial integrity and in exercising international obligations thus contributing to peace in the region and the world. Thong highlighted the significance of the conference in effectively realizing the Constitution.
