Ms. Nga made the remark at a recent meeting of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

She agreed with suggestions of Non-aligned and ASEAN countries that peacekeeping activities should be conducted within the framework of international law and the UN Charter with respect for national sovereignty and consensus from involved parties, without interfering in the internal affairs of member countries nor using forces, except for self-defending and fulfilling missions.

Nga reiterated that Vietnam has always fulfilled its tasks as a responsible UN member, and actively taken part in all UN peace keeping efforts.
