Vietnam aims to expand cooperation in nuclear security
(VOVworld)- On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh attended a session on threats to nuclear security held within the framework of the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.

At the session which was chaired by US President Barack Obama leaders from more than 50 countries highlighted global achievements in ensuring nuclear security. They stressed the need to pay more attention to preventing threats to nuclear security, especially threats from terrorist groups as they seek to expand their operations. The delegations agreed to strengthen international cooperation and share information and experience in nuclear security.
On the sidelines of the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh
held meetings with leaders of foreign countries and international organisations including Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, Italian PM Matteo Renzi, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Norwegian PM Erna Solberg , UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and US National Security Advisor Susan Rice. They discussed regional and global issues and ways to boost bilateral cooperation in trade investment, and clean and renewable energy.
