According to General Director of Vietnam Airlines Pham Ngoc Minh the show aims to introduce new generation of Boeing 787 that will be officially handed over to Vietnam Airlines in July.
The aircraft which is fully painted in light blue and the golden lotus at the tail performed its 10-minute demonstration flight at the show.
According to Mr. Minh, “this is the first time Vietnam’s aviation has demonstrated a displaying flight of its new aircraft at one of the world’s biggest air shows like in Paris. We’re glad to receive Boeing’s support to introduce our new Dreamliner aircraft fleet and expect that it will be a start for our image and service quality that we will commit to bringing to customers when the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is set to operate on long routes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to UK’s Heathrow and Germany’s Frankfurt. This year and next year, we’ll replace almost all aircrafts with two latest airplane generations of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900 XWB for long flights to Europe and Australia.”
