The event is under the framework of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia taking place in Jakarta from Sunday to Tuesday.

In his address, Minister Cao Duc Phat highlighted Vietnam's achievements under the "new vision in agriculture" initiated at the 2010 WEF in Ho Chi Minh City.

These achievements include the successful implementation of sustainable and skillful agricultural production through cooperation between some 10,000 farmers and international groups like Unilever, Nestle, Metro Cash and Carry, and Pepsico.

Minister Phat said the approach has proven effective, with a great number of Vietnamese agricultural products having penetrated international markets.

The same day, Minister Phat chaired a debate at the forum on Vietnam’s experience over the past 5 years in applying the private-public partnership model to agricultural development.
