(VOVworld) – Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, called for international efforts to build a world of peace and security that honors the UN charter and international law.

In her speech to the UN Disarmament and International Security Committee, Nga reiterated Vietnam’s unswerving policy of advocating comprehensive non-proliferation and disarmament, especially of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction. She reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to achieving these goals and ensuring security and safety in the use of nuclear energy for socio-economic development.

The Ambassador praised foreign support for Vietnam in implementing a national action program from 2010-2025 to cope with bombs and mines left over from the war.
