Vietnam enhances cooperation with UN in sustainable development
(VOVworld) – A UN summit to enhance cooperation on transit, trade facilitation, and implementation of the 2030 agenda on sustainable development opened in Hanoi on Tuesday.

The meeting is attended by representatives from 38 countries and 29 international organizations. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh told the opening session: “This year marks Vietnam’s 40 years of membership in the UN. The UN has helped Vietnam achieve important social and economic progress. I take this opportunity to thank the UN and look forward to our continued partnership for sustainable development. Vietnam has done its best to contribute to the work of the UN. We plan to do more.”
Participants will discuss measures to boost cooperation between non-marine and transit countries in customs, trade, investment, and building trans-national entrepots.
